A wonderful pub with an outstanding beer garden!
We visited during our stay at Barmouth Bay Holiday park after hearing only good things.
Firstly the pub is full of character, with a well stocked bar including great selections of beer, wine, spirits as well as soft drinks.
Stepping out to the beer garden this is in such a wonderful location, with the river running along side. The perfect place to enjoy a cold pint in the sun.
The menu is made up of pub classics, and we found the food to be of great quality. Food and drink prices seemed to be extremely reasonable.
A must visit if the weather is nice and you are in the area
Didn’t live up to the hype.
The location and setting looks great. The stream and the outside seating area is very appealing, but I have to say the food was a letdown and not value for money at all.
I don’t mind paying nearly £15 for a meal but it has to taste better than your standard pub chain you’d pay half the price for.
The children’s pizza was clearly a frozen microwaved one, the chicken burger the same.
I would come back for a drink and the setting, but not the food, which is a shame because it could be an absolute hidden gem if they got this right.
Sunday Lunch carvery on 13.10.24 was first class. Meat carved at servery with choice of 1 or 2 of the 3 meats: beef, turkey and pork with trimmings when we went. You help yourself to vegetables. Delicious, you do need to book in advance and I can see why they are so busy.
We also went again in the week and once again Ysgethin did not disappoint. We ordered the Gammon and 10oz Sirloin with a couple of pints of bitter
Crazy rare find this place.
It’s simple, lovely little pub with great staff members. Straight up tells you to order at 5pm at the bar as it’s gets busy quick and fast.
Yeah he wasn’t wrong.
The menu isn’t huge which is a massive green flag not over worked. Simple pub food and classics.
Homemade chilli was packing, spice, flavour, quality. 5/5 easy
Gammon and chips, It was a quality piece of gammon, butchers fresh cut. Grilled perfectly with a nice char, it’s not really salty as you would expect which is a bonus.
Hand cut chips was a real highlight.
Loved everything about this place,
Real gem and the owners should be really proud
