The Fanny Talbot

We are staying in the Barmouth area for two weeks and we have dined here three times. The menu is outstanding and the food is beyond delicious. I have rarely had better food anywhere than I have here. Fine dining at its best and not overly expensive either and the food is worth every penny. The staff are also very friendly and also knowledgeable about the menu. There is also an excellent wine menu. Also a welcoming bar and outside area if you just want to have a drink. I can't recommend highly enough!

Came here for a special honeymoon meal and it did not disappoint. I was hoping to have the tasting menu but my new wife was so impressed by the a la carte that we went for that instead. Really friendly staff and whilst it's fine dining, it's not pretentious. Great wine selection at a remarkably reasonable price for the quality of food, making it more accessible. Particular shout out to Savannah, who was knowledgeable about the suppliers and provided excellent service. Recommend the belly pork and triple cooked chips!

Fine dining at its best. The food is beautiful highly recommend the sirloin and cheese cake. What really enhanced the experience was the passion and excellent customer service from the staff. All of them were so lovely. A special mention of Svanah. She was so friendly, and attentive. Thank you all for a wonderful anniversary celebration. We loved the treats at the end and the card was just fab. X

We had a great experience at The Fanny Talbot. From the moment we stepped through the door, every member of staff made us feel welcome. There’s a warmth and friendliness to the team that makes the whole visit memorable—but a special mention must go to Savannah, attentiveness, infectious smile elevated the entire evening. The food was exceptional. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, but it was the depth of flavour in the sauces that truly stood out—rich, balanced, and utterly delicious. It’s clear the kitchen team takes real pride in their craft. We left already thinking about our next visit. Thank you to everyone who made it such a special evening—we hope to return one day soon!

Restaurant is intimately decorated with low lighting and a nice ambience. Had a nice little courtyard out front for pre/post meal drinks. Staff very attentive, able to recommend alcohol free drinks and adjust cooking of raw meat due to being pregnant. We had the 2 and 3 courses and it was beautiful. Perfect for a special occasion .
