a week agoI didn't stay at the hotel but I had food at the restaurant. Really good quality and the service is great, the location is a bonus. A bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Good quality food. Definitely recommend.

a month agoHad visited this pub several times for lunch and drinks. Thought would book into the restaurant for an evening meal. Was not disappointed. Both our meals were lovely, and we will definitely be back. Views across the estuary are beautiful an added bonus

3 weeks agoWe visited this pub this evening to have an anniversary meal, unfortunately we were extremely unimpressed by the food and service. The beef on the Sunday roast was completely inedible as it was really tough and chewy. After waiting around 35 minutes, no one bothered to move our plates and left us sitting there with empty glasses even though we overheard them say “it’s table service” several times. After waiting this long, we had to mention the service and the poor food to one of the younger staff member. The staff member said he would discuss this with a manager but we heard nothing back. As we had waited a further 15 minutes just for a dessert menu and for someone to even ask us if we wanted a drink, my partner mentioned the poor service and we were told a small amount had been knocked off the bill. I personally feel the manager should have made an effort to come over to us just to apologise but clearly he couldn’t be bothered, nor could any of the staff. We then ordered a pudding which was a further mistake, the chocolate fondue was not homemade and felt like it was frozen, bought and warmed up. Although I feel warmed up is an overstatement, given the pudding wasn’t warm all the way through. I know we weren’t the only ones frustrated with the service as people were having to get up and go to the bar just to order their own drinks and pay for their bill because no one could be bothered to check in with them. Overall, I would say this pub IS NOT worth your time or money.

2 months agoDisappointing service. The food was actually nice, but completely ruined right at the end of the evening by terrible service. If you need the table by a certain time, please let your customers know in advance! We had the table for about an hour and a half before we ordered a round of desserts and more wine; no one informed us we would need to be out within 10 mins, absolutely not a problem if that's the case, but seriously embarrassing when you have your last sip of wine and a waiter informs you that you need to leave now because your table is needed. Kind of ruined a pleasant family dinner. (We were there 1 hour 40mins). **edit- the business reply unfortunately lies saying my husband paid the bill and left. When in fact, my husband left taking two children with him whilst I waited for the bill, then I waited for the card reader, then I paid the bill. I had no problem waiting… my feedback is that a mention at any time to say the table was needed within 2 minutes of paying the bill would have been helpful, as I wouldn’t have ordered a 2nd glass of wine with dessert if I didn’t have time to drink it. Thanks! Reply from business also says “tables booked back to back, which it does state in your booking confirmation.” They are right..it does.. it said 2 hours… we were there for 1 hour 40….
