With Barmouth beach & train station reachable within 500 metres, The Royal offers a traditionally styled, family and dog friendly pub with accommodation, showing live sports and often having live music at weekends.
I stayed at The Royal with my wife and two girls for two nights. We had a fantastic time. The room was amazingly clean and the hospitality was fantastic. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and I cannot find a fault at all. So much so that I have booked for us to stay there for a whole week next year. Looking forward to it!
Awesome place
Awesome food
Awesome staff
AWESOME all round.
Fun Fact - it is possibly the oldest pub in the country with a FULL SIZE snooker table.
What a place, food is grand, Tudor IPA is a decent brew. Nutty tones on that bad boy.
I shall revisit one day... Keep on pubbin.

Fancied a refreshing stop while on a short break with my wife. Called in at the Royal because we had our dog and the place is "dog friendly".
I opted for a pint of Guiness and I have to say, it was one one of the best tasting and well poured pints of Guiness I have ever had outside of Ireland! Fantastic pint!!
Wife went for a dark rum & coke and that was enjoyable too.
Nice, friendly atmosphere and pub was warm & inviting.
The artwork in the gents toilets are worth seeing too.... very funny! 🤣👍🏽🍺
Food was great and the staff were good . Had a problem with ordering food, most of the table had ordered. And we didn't get to order as the kitchen had just closed. I was told no food when i asked the bar, but when we complained., and explained we were with the table that had just ordered, staff called Summer helped to get us some food sorted,so we could eat with our table. Thank you Summer, we really appreciated your help.
Great pub bar staff friendly and helpful. Quality of drinks was good and reasonable price didn't eat there but everyone who was seamed very happy with the meals that they had
