A wonderful pub with an outstanding beer garden!
We visited during our stay at Barmouth Bay Holiday park after hearing only good things.
Firstly the pub is full of character, with a well stocked bar including great selections of beer, wine, spirits as well as soft drinks.
Stepping out to the beer garden this is in such a wonderful location, with the river running along side. The perfect place to enjoy a cold pint in the sun.
The menu is made up of pub classics, and we found the food to be of great quality. Food and drink prices seemed to be extremely reasonable.
A must visit if the weather is nice and you are in the area
We was at the campsite over the road and walked up to the pub for a couple of drinks. Lovely old building in beautiful setting with the river running straight past. The staff were friendly and efficient and was pleased to see that they served Hawkstone lager which was a pleasant surprise. Definitely worth a visit.
Loved this place. Proper 'Pub' menu, and the food was excellent. The place is deceptive, bigger than it looks, lots of history and well worth a visit, especially for food.
Great atmosphere, friendly and inviting - locals and tourists all seemed welcome, I grew up in this area and was quite proud to see how happy everyone seemed to be there.
Go, grab some food, a drink, watch the river and enjoy.
Didn’t live up to the hype.
The location and setting looks great. The stream and the outside seating area is very appealing, but I have to say the food was a letdown and not value for money at all.
I don’t mind paying nearly £15 for a meal but it has to taste better than your standard pub chain you’d pay half the price for.
The children’s pizza was clearly a frozen microwaved one, the chicken burger the same.
I would come back for a drink and the setting, but not the food, which is a shame because it could be an absolute hidden gem if they got this right.
